That’s awesome to hear that you’ve managed to stop smoking cigarettes after 32 years of puffing away

I’ve noticed a big difference in my breathing as well since I switched over from analogues. I think the fact you are inhaling smoke with tobacco is as bad for you as any of the other poisonous chemicals that’s in it, so vapor is obviously going to do a lot less damage to the heart and lungs.

Are you in Australia CD? What brand of e cig are you using over there?

I started e-cigs May 6 2011 – after some 32 years approx of smoking the analogues..I have found it to be quite thought provoking really..where you think about what your actually doing way more than I ever did having a puff!The change has been brilliant as I have not returned to my Winfield Golds at all – and in my mind I may give it all up or I may just stay e-cig happy – but it’s has importantlystopped the weeze at night when I’m set to sleep -I feel like I can breath more and with interest I will watch this wacky world go about the politics of tearing it down.Good luck as I will ‘vape’ as I listen.on ya e-cigs.CD

I absolutely agree on what had you written here in the blog comments, most people cant stop their smoking habits so this e-cigarette is the best option for them. They can gradually decrease their smoking and in no time it will be no hard for them to quit smoking.

The e-cigarette produces a cloud of nicotine carrying vapor with none of the toxic by products of burning tobacco. It is the burning of the tobacco that releases thousands of toxic substances. Research has been done to show that nicotine is no more harmful than caffeine. Key here, is everything in moderation. The electronic cigarette in my opinion is one of the greatest products invented. I smoked for decades and thanks to the internet found a local e-cig company (VaporConcepts)that I purchased from and slowly did away with the terrible addiction I had to tobacco cigarettes. I am proud to tell people I am a e cig fan. Thanks for the article!

As a retail merchant of electronic cigarettes, I get asked every day if they will help the person quit. Even though statistically that answer is a huge resounding “YES”, my answer is that even people who have no desire to quit smoking tobacco soon find that they prefer the electronic cigarettes and the tobacco use ceases on it’s own.

That isn’t playing semantics. The fact is that although quite a few people come to buy them to quit smoking, I have just as many who come to buy them to use in conjunction with cigarettes and they come back and tell me they haven’t wanted tobacco.

For those who didn’t have good electronic cigarette experiences, keep in mind there are many different models and flavors on the market. Not all e-cigs are the same. I went through several models and juice vendors to find what worked for me because I was a VERY heavy smoker and the little mini ecigs just couldn’t keep up.

No e-cig is going to taste exactly like a burnt cigarette..because they aren’t burnt, but there are many vendors who sell eliquid that comes pretty close. I’ve found that most people didn’t smoke because of the flavor in the first place. Once you get past that, just find a flavor you do enjoy and then it’s magic.

I second your opinion on Green Smoke – they are definitely one of the, if not THE, best e-cigs on the market. There are a lot of other good ones, too — have you tried any others or are you solely a Green Smoke user?

Actually I just want to use this forum to sing the praises of e-cigarettes. One of the things I always disliked about smoking, which I have done since teenaged years like so many of us, was the nasty odor the smoke always left on clothing, breath, etc. That is, to me, a significant advance that vap-ing makes possible. No smoke, no smoke odor.

Another quality I find appealing is that there IS the actual feel of smoking, and inhaling smoke, although it’s simpple water vapor. My own smoking habit, it turns out, is less physical than it is ritual. I have always had a cigarette at certain times, not exactly designated but surely consistent. After long, boring meetings, with friends over drinks or coffee, at stressful moments, etc.

Above all, of course, is the idea that I can continue with my long-established ritual, which was always branded “dirty” and “unhealthy,” and actually not be overly concerned with health risks. Of course I could still get hit by a bus while vap-ing!

But if I can couple these benefits with a true knowledge that I am actually saving $$, and not behaving in a way that’s offensive to so many people, then I can truly assert that e-cigarettes are an asset to my daily life. How often is it that we can believe that about a new product – short of the new IPhone, that is.

What about the costs, as compared to regular cigarettes? How do I find out if buying E-Cigarettes will save me money in the long run? Plus – do most users say that the vapor is just as satisfying as cigarette smoke? Thanks for answering my questions.
