Hi Admin, thanks for taking the time to reply to my comment.

I agree with your comments concerning someone else’s site that is employing the “do as I say, not as I do” philosophy.

The latest ruling by Judge Leon seems to suggest that e-cigarettes will not come under FDA legislation as a drug/device combination provided that they are not marketed as a smoking cessation product. The Federal District Court judge had no problem with them being marketed to recreational users of tobacco products as a “healthier alternative” as long as no therapeutic claims were made. His preliminary ruling seems to suggest that the FDA will have to create an entire new set of rules that will regulate the tobacco industry as a whole if they are going to try to regulate the e-cigarette.

Even if they do that, they may not be able to regulate the device, itself, but rather only the e-liquid or pre-filled cartridges. Of course, if we are talking about the ones that contain no nicotine, they will never have a leg to stand on. To regulate the e-cigarette device, itself, they would then be forced to regulate pipes & rolling papers as well, which, in and of themselves, pose no harm at all. The FDA is fighting windmills here!

While I believe that the major tobacco companies will no doubt try to become market leaders in the ecig business,one must remember that Philip Morris inc only have 15% of the tobacco world wide market.It will I believe be a good thing for them to enter the market,proving that ecigs like Cecorettes have a place in the alternative smoking market.
The day will come when smokers will be fascinated that in the old days,people actually inhaled burnt tobacco.This ecig debate needs the go ahead from all leading Governments allowing ecigs to be used anywhere.This will stop all the fuss,and allow the non smoking public to once and all shut up,and judge for themselves how clean and harmless to other people ecigs really are.

Hi admin, just want to say I too quit a few months ago using the e-cigarette, combined with an Allen Carr mentality. Switched from 2 packs a day to an e-cig without nicotine. Worked really well for me.
As for Rod’s message: I see your point but personally I’m really happy with my choice to go cold turkey on the nicotine, it’s great to be free of that powerfull addiction. And yes, that’s exactly what it was to me: I continued chain smoking for over 20 years even after the doctors told me I have COPD. It does not compare to my need for coffee. I love my coffee but would easily give it up if it turned out to be life-threatening.

I too advise people wanting to quit to try the combination e-cig, allen carr and rapid nicotine cessation.

Good article. The e-cigarette is a great alternative because it allows smokers to have the “experience” of smoking a cigarette, but with less nicotine, no tar, and none of the smell and icky butts left over. Some people are using them to quit smoking but even if someone has no intention on quitting, it’s a much better alternative.

E Cigs in my opinion have definitely got to be safer than regular cigs.

I “smoke” ‘em and love them. I haven’t been back to regular analog cigs since I started vaping.

Cecorettes have launched a disposable Ecigarette specially for the NHS:this new version will allow the NHS to consider using a disposable cecorette as an alternative to nicotine patches and nicotine chewing gum.The disposable version will allow smokers to try this alternative prior to purchasing a full rechargable kit.Research has shown that smokers want a more realistic device to hold in the hand whilst trying to quit,chewing gum or sticking a patch on ones arm while having a pint or a glass of wine does not go down as well as puffing on a cecorette that dispenses nicotine via a vaporiser.We will update you when we have the response to this proposal from the NHS.

Why can’t e cigarettes be considered as a no-smoking aid. I tried the patch on several occassions and managed to quit for several months, but if it wasn’t for the therapy behind the patch I would have lasted maybe 2 weeks. Nicotine gum gives me heart burn and I missed the old feeling of having a cigarette in my hand, so I lasted maybe 2 weeks. Hypnosis did not work for me or any other scare tactics. So as far as I’m concerned this is a good alternative combined with another form of therapy and/or counseling. These are available through various groups in your neighborhood for free.
