If I had a penny for everyone I heard moan “How Do I Quit Smoking?” I’d certainly have a few more pennies in my pocket. The first place I tell anyone to check out when looking to stop smoking without the use of stop smoking pills is Allen Carr’s Easy Way To Stop Smoking Book. This easy to read book gives the most clear cut route to a nicotine free life it is possible to find anywhere.

How do I quit smoking by reading a book?

The Easy Way To Stop Smoking goes into great detail describing why me smoke tobacco products in the first place and makes you realise that the only reason you smoke is because you are addicted. Sound easy? Well it really is and I’ve spoken to many people who have used this technique to free themselves from nicotine addiction permanently by reading this.

The beauty of The Easy Way To Stop Smoking is that it allows to to continue to smoke cigarettes as you read the book so there is no need to worry about the nicotine withdrawal symptoms until you decide if this technique is right for you.

How do i quit smoking easily?

The easy way to stop smoking uses psychotherapy techniques to provide a solution to your cigarette addiction that works in exactly the opposite way to traditional stop smoking methods. Traditionally we concentrate on the reasons why we shouldn’t smoke when we are trying to stop while with this method discusses why we continue to smoke when you already know all the negatives associated with our habit.

How do i quit smoking without withdrawal symptoms?

The physical withdrawal symptoms we all worry about when considering giving up cigarettes actually play a very small part in keeping us addicted. Its the belief that we are being deprived of the “pleasure” of smoking which makes you usual attempts to quit smoking so torturous. When you get to the bottom of the reasons for the addiction and realize that we are actually giving up anything the physical withdrawal symptoms become negligible. It actually becomes enjoyable to experience the nicotine leaving our body and giving us the freedom we dream of.

Of course there are other ways to stop that other people find helpful, the same method doesn’t work for us all. Maybe you would prefer to quit smoking with detox or perhaps hypnosis but in my opinion the best thing to do the next time someone asks you “how do I quit smoking?” is to point them in the direction of Allen Carr’s excellent book.

The last post I made about the research regarding the possibility that nicotine replacement therapy might cause cancer or make it worse seemed to have brewed up a bit of a storm. I put the article up as I like to show both sides of the story in regards to these devices, nicotine is not a health product after all and its highly addictive properties mean that we would all do well to remove it from our lives if at all possible. How detrimental it is to our health may be open to some argument but at the end of the day we’re better of without in in our body for our physical and mental well being. If you don’t agree with that then there’s probably nothing I can say to change your mind.

I think the electronic cigarette is a great stop smoking aid and definitely the best nicotine replacement therapy available on the market but should we really be treating them as a long term substitute for smoking or a stepping stone to a drug free existence? I used the e cigarette along with the “easy way to stop smoking” book by Allen Carr to rid myself of nicotine and wholeheartedly recommend them to any smoker who wants to quit. But, my belief is that our aim should be to work on becoming nicotine free as possible.

Don’t get me wrong, swapping tobacco for vaporized nicotine is going to do wonders for your health if you are a long term smoker but cutting out nicotine entirely should be the next step.

What I have discovered is that a life that doesn’t revolve around a drug addiction is a happier, more content life. What’s natural about having a constant urge to supply your body with a chemical, whether natural or man made, at regular intervals throughout the day? To me there is something wrong with finding yourself on this amazing planet and being horrified that you have run out of nicotine, but this is the predicament smokers find themselves whenever they find their supplies diminishing. Cut out the addiction and you’ll be surprised how simple things become far more enjoyable and you’ll probably find that you become a more productive human being.

I know that many people who are still smoking or vaping are going to have a fit when they read this but I’m not writing with the intent of pissing people off, I just want convince as many people as possible that they can live a life without nicotine and the first step in doing so is realizing that whatever you think it adds to your life is an illusion.

There’s no doubt in my mind that E Cigarettes are miles ahead of tobacco products as a way to deliver nicotine to the system in terms of their effect on your health but is your aim to find a healthier way to be a drug addict or to free yourself from the shackles of addiction for good?

My advice is to get a hold of the “Easy way to stop smoking” book and an E cigarette if you need it as a way to get off the smokes. In time wean yourself off nicotine altogether and you’ll find life to be an altogether more enjoyable experience.

Anything you can do to help you quit smoking for good gets the vote from me, whether its joining a support group, getting hypnotherapy or replacing your cigarettes with the e cigarette. There are even herbs to quit smoking available these days and I’m sure they are as effective as anything you will get from your doctor. But according to the UK’s national health service you’re up to 4 times more likely to stop smoking if you get NHS support and use nicotine replacement therapies.

Not really sure what they mean when they say you are ‘up to’ 4 times more likely to stop though, and when did they start calling nicotine replacement therapies ’stop smoking medicine’? I don’t know, maybe they’re just so excited about the opportunity to stop people smoking that they get a bit carried away with themselves.

You know I’m a bit skeptical about the drug companies in general but I wonder how hard the pharmaceutical companies push the NHS to flog their products to the public extra hard. And calling nicotine replacement therapy a medicine seems like an outright lie. I mean if a medicine is a substance used to treat a disease or illness then I guess nicotine addiction is now a disease. Sounds to me as if someone is trying to gloss over the fact that these ’stop smoking medicines’ do exactly the same thing as the cigarette you are trying to give up, that is deliver nicotine into your bloodstream.

Still, I guess if the NHS really achieves its aim of increasing peoples chances to stop smoking then its worth giving it a shot if you’re in the UK and having trouble giving up the weed. Just try and do it without the aid of the ’stop smoking medicines, the drug companies have enough money and you can stop without their help.

If you have tried using the E cigarette to stop smoking but aren’t having much in the way of success then you may want to try something different instead. I have mentioned Allan Carr’s “Easy Way To Stop Smoking” before and how it helped my get off the tobacco, but it doesn’t work for everyone.

Still, there are other methods that have varying success rates. You might want to try to Quit with Ciggarrest. You might not have heard of this before as its not so well known, at least it wasn’t to me.

The ciggarest plan is a smoking cessation program which has actually been around a long time, since 1986 in fact if my information is correct, and has helped more than one million smokers quit smoking for good.

It a homeopathic stop smoking method so you don’t have to worry about any negative health consequences like you would with stop smoking drugs such as champix that the pharmaceutical industry tries to force upon us.

When you buy this program you are sent tablets, gums, vitamins, a handbook and a CD which are all geared towards getting you off nicotine. The chewable tablets don’t contain any nicotine, are all natural, and supposedly remove the craving for cigarettes. Like I say, I’ve never tried this myself so whether it works or not remains to be seen, but I suppose anything is worth a shot for those among us who don’t like electronic cigarettes and have a history of failed stop smoking attempts.

If anyone out there has tried this before then let me know how it went for you. I’d be interested to hear if it makes stopping smoking any more or less difficult than the use of e cigarettes. You can leave a comment at the bottom of this posts so that everyone else can read it.

If you smoke cigarettes and have tried to give up at any point then you know how difficult it is to stop. Everyone you speak to will generously offer their own stop smoking tips to try and help you give up but this advice only seems to make things worse. Most of us take several attempts before we manage to quit smoking cigarettes for good with 75% of us returning to the habit after our first seemingly successful stop smoking attempt.

Why Is It Hard To Stop Smoking?

Of course the main reason cigarettes are so addictive is because of the nicotine contained in the tobacco. When we hear that nicotine is a substance so addictive that it can be compared to the illegal street drugs cocaine and heroin, be begin to realize why we find it so hard to give up smoking cigarettes. Soon after we start to smoke cigarettes our body adjusts to the effects of the nicotine and we become dependent as the body craves the drug to maintain its natural equilibrium.

Apart from the physical addiction there is also a psychological element to cigarette addiction. We begin to feel incomplete without cigarettes at certain times in our daily routine. Breaking these habits becomes more and more difficult the longer we smoke so although it may seem like an insurmountable mountain the task will only become more difficult the longer you leave it.

Make the decision today to free yourself from nicotine today, join a support group and get yourself a copy of “The easy way to stop smoking” by Allan Carr. With a little perseverance and luck you’ll be living a happy nicotine free life in no time. And remember, even if you don’t manage to stop smoking this time its easy to give it another go whenever you want.

Those of you who feel you need a little help to kick the habit but don’t want to splash out the cash for a book such as “The Easy Way To Stop Smoking” will find plenty of information Online. There’s no doubt that reading about possible quitting techniques and stories from other smokers can help give you the motivation you need to succeed. A friend of mine has a site called Smoking Effects which has some articles on it which might be exactly what you are looking for. Failing that you can always do a search on Google, the Internet is awash with stop smoking advice, all you need to do is find it.

As someone who was addicted to cigarettes for nearly 20 years and has only recently managed to stop smoking I know from first hand experience how hard to is to drop the cancer sticks. For those of you who is struggling with nicotine addiction it can be hard to find the best way to stop smoking so I’ve listed a few stop smoking tips that might give you the motivation you need to stub out the habit.

1. Decide to stop smoking on a specific day

Setting a date in the near future when you intend to stop smoking makes your task so much easier by making your plans more concrete and therefore less easy to break. Choose a day which isn’t too far off as you don’t want to lose motivation. Telling everyone you know the date you have set will also help you stop smoking for good as you won’t want to let them down.

2. Live a healthier lifestyle

Smoking cigarettes becomes part of a lifestyle which usually doesn’t have many healthy aspects. Make the effort to improve my physical condition by eating a healthier diet and exercising will cause you to become less interested in smoking. Start off with something simple like taking a long walk each day and have a salad for lunch and you really feel the benefits of your new nicotine free life.

3. Stay away from the situations which used to cause you to smoke

I used to have great trouble resisting cigarettes when I went to the pub so when I decided to stop smoking for good I stayed away from the pub for a couple of months. Not an easy decision to make by any means but the price paid was definitely worth it. I suggest that if you want to stop you try staying away from pubs and other social situations where you can stop thinking about cigarettes until you feel like you are truly a non-smoker. If you usually take cigarette breaks at work find something else to do for a few minutes to take your mind of cigarettes.

4. If you are really struggling use an e cigarette to satisfy your cravings

I used an e cigarette when quitting smoking and it definitely did me a lot of good. E cigarettes allow you to stop smoking tobacco immediately without worrying about the consequences of nicotine withdrawal, thus removing the dread you might feel when considering a life without cigarettes. Not everyone loves e cigarettes but they are definitely worth a shot if you are desperate to give up.

We’re all aware that smoking cigarettes is one of the most harmful things we can do to our bodies so why do so many of us find it so difficult to stop?

Researchers reckon that 60% of people have a genetic variance that makes them susceptible to nicotine addiction. Those that start smoking in their teens and have two copies of this variance can trigger a lifelong addition to nicotine.

As you can all see I haven’t been updating this blog recently. The main reason is that I have had other things in my life that I’ve been concentrating on, mainly associated with trying to make a living.

The other, perhaps more important reason why the blog has gone to the dogs is that I’ve finally become totally nicotine free. I no longer smoke cigarettes and I’ve even punted my trusty e cigarette. How did this come about? Well to be honest, after a few months of puffing away on my electronic cigarette I had a moment of clarity where I came to the realisation that nicotine wasn’t adding anything to my life. Of course I had known for years that nicotine was doing nothing for me except keeping me smoking but at that moment I truly realised the reality of the habit. We don’t enjoy cigarette, they don’t taste good and they are not cool, the only reason we smoke is because we are addicted to nicotine!

I happened to be rereading Allen Carr’s “Easy Way To Stop Smoking” when I had my epiphany so I think that definitely helped things along. Anyway, the day after this took place my electronic cigarette was in the trash and I’ve been nicotine free ever since. This exciting episode happened a couple of months ago and I’m happy to say that in general I’m not missing my old friend one bit. The only time I’ve felt like picking up a cigarette has been when drinking, but considering I drink alcohol so rarely these days its not much of a problem.

I’m going to get this blog back up and running, filling it with information on how to quit smoking in the hope that it will motivate others to take the first steps to a nicotine free life. Its really not that hard when you get yourself in the right frame of mind and things are so much better when you life don’t revolve around cancer sticks.

There is a lot of stop smoking help available on the market today but they can mostly be categorized as either pharmaceuticals or nicotine replacement therapies. What both pharmaceuticals and NRT have in common is that they are produced by the world’s biggest drug companies. Now call me a conspiracy theorist but I’d don’t believe that these companies are creating stop smoking aids for the benefit of humanity. They are huge companies with a crowd of shareholders to keep happy after all.

For this reason I was always wary of using drugs when I attempted to stop smoking, of course in the end I was using an electronic cigarette made without regulation in China, so you could say I’m slightly crazy. The thing is, I’ve recently been hearing about all the nasty side affects caused by one stop smoking aid drug in particular known as Champix.

Champix has been a phenomenal success since it was introduced to the market, with an incredible 9 million people using it as a stop smoking aid and the drug raking in almost $900 million for Pfizer in its first year on the market. However, in the 12 months there have been a number of alarming reports about users suffering from severe depression and even suicides while taking the drug.

Pfizer denies any relationship between the drug and the psychological problems suffered by users, it says that “Stopping smoking, with or without treatment, is associated with nicotine withdrawal symptoms and the exacerbation of underlying psychiatric illness”. I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t convince me much. I’ve certainly never experienced, or heard of others experiencing, suicidal thoughts due to nicotine withdrawal.

The choice is yours if you want to use these products but I’m glad I decided to give them a miss and stick with my trusty e cigarette and my copy of “The Easy Way to Stop Smoking”.

If you’re a smoker I don’t need to tell you how difficult it is to kick the nasty habit. Everyone I talk to about smoking cessation seems to have their own beliefs about the best way to go about things. For me, traditional nicotine replacement therapy, hypnosis and “Stop Smoking” books only prolonged the agony before my willpower collapsed and I became a smoker once again. The smoking ritual that had become an integral part of my life was something I just couldn’t stand to lose. Going to the newsagents to buy my supplies, rolling the perfect cigarette, lighting up and spending five minutes of quality time with smoking friends, how do you give up an activity that seems to define who you are. Never mind the fact that the your beloved tobacco products contain one of the most addictive compounds known to man.

For me, the mind is the battleground where your fight against nicotine really takes place, the physical addiction is really a secondary consideration. On the one hand we hate the fact that our habit is shortening our life and on the other we are experts at putting all the health worries associated with our habit to the back of our minds. We foolishly convince ourselves that either, “It’ll never happen to me”, or that we will give up smoking at some point in the future before the health problems start to manifest themselves. As long as we don’t have to confront the nicotine monster until tomorrow, life is good.

I’m still struggling with these issues if truth be told. However, slowly but surely I’m coming to terms with the fact that I won’t be a smoker forever, and being a non-smoker isn’t going to result in some bizarre mutation of my personality. I’ll still be the same person. My fiends will still see me as the same person. The transformation from one person to another is only happening in my head.
